Bella's Story

  • RALPH

    Breed: Boxer

Ralph started his hydrotherapy with Canactive in 2021 following a Cranial Cruciate Ligament surgery.

Ralph has been a regular client since and has unfortunately had further operations (this is relatively common with Cruciate Disease) but his owner credits the strength and conditioning he receives during his hydrotherapy sessions, with his ability to bounce back from surgery.

Ralph is now back canicrossing 5km trail runs, happily and pain free.

  • SNOWY

    Breed: Labrador

Snowy came to us in 2021 to help support her mobility. We helped to support Snowy in her twilight years and made her more comfortable with the help of the warm water and buoyancy in the treadmill.

Sadly Snowy is no longer with us, this is the hardest part of the job but we are privileged to be able to share some small moments with the wonderful senior dogs who join us at Canactive.

  • JUDO

    Breed: Border Collie

Judo came to Canactive in 2019 following a diagnosis of Spondylosis. For a number of years we were able to keep Judo comfortable and he was still running with his owner up until the age of 13.

Judo again is sadly no longer with us, but we are grateful for the time we got to spend with him in his sessions at Canactive.

  • MARLEY

    Breed: Mixed Breed

Marley started hydrotherapy with Canactive in 2019 for fitness and conditioning.

We get lots of dogs coming to the centre who are fit and healthy but have some genetic breed conditions that may be of concern in the future.

One of these conditions is Hip Dysplasia, and we regularly treat healthy dogs in the treadmill to keep all the muscles and ligaments strong, in case of a future diagnosis.
